Unlike images based on colored pixels, whose quality depends on their resolution, vector images are based on points, lines, curves, and mathematically constructed shapes, and these images can be reproduced in any size without loss of quality.

In this workshop, we will learn to use the main tools of the Inkscape vector drawing software for free drawing and vector manipulation of pixelated images.

Why this topic?

Vector drawing is widely used in a wide range of professions (eg designer, illustrator, web designer, etc) and activities (eg marketing, branding, etc) for example to create business cards, posters, billboards, web pages, etc. The acquisition of this type of competence is increasingly relevant in the professional, academic, and labor market world.

This workshops offers tools and introductory knowledge of vector drawing in Inkscape for:

  • Free design (in particular for creating logos)
  • Basic vector manipulation of pixelated images.
